The Lean Jax Junto:
A Modern Forum for Purposeful Problem-Solving

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
— Benjamin Franklin

The Jacksonville Lean Consortium is excited to announce our new monthly virtual training series: The Lean Jax Junto, a peer-driven virtual forum designed to ignite scientific thinking, promote collaborative learning, and address today's most critical organizational challenges through thoughtful inquiry and purposeful action.

In 1727, in the heart of Philadelphia, Benjamin Franklin founded the original Junto—a small society of tradesmen, artisans, and thinkers who met weekly to pursue self-improvement, civic contribution, and collective wisdom. The participants asked challenging questions, shared honest reflections, and supported one another’s growth through respectful dialogue rooted in the Socratic method.

The word Junto itself means “together," and that spirit is at the heart of this experiment.

Just as Franklin’s group blended curiosity with accountability, we gather modern professionals to explore complex problems, test bold ideas, and strengthen our scientific thinking—not alone, but as a community.

Franklin’s Junto sparked civic innovation, mutual progress, and practical breakthroughs that shaped a young nation. Today, we aim to do the same—bringing people together to address modern challenges with humility, experimentation, and shared purpose.

While our inspiration is timeless, our focus is forward. The Lean Jax Junto is a space to develop scientific thinking, apply it to meaningful organizational challenges, and lead change in a world that refuses to sit still.

How It Works

  • Submit & Vote: Members propose challenges and vote on each session's focus.
  • Session Structure: Includes full-group exercises, breakout discussions, and Miro-based problem-solving.
  • Progress Updates: Sessions begin with brief reviews of prior action items.
  • Interactive Dialogue: Socratic questioning and iterative cycles of exploration.
  • Accountability & Action: Every participant leaves with clear, peer-supported action items.
  • Ongoing Learning: Coaching, clinics, and curated resources between sessions.
